How attributes grow
What trains your character, why growth slows as an attribute rises, and the two attributes that never grow.
Your character is described by attributes: Strength, Magic, Stealth, Trading, Faith and many more. They are what classes are made of, and most of them also shape how you fight.
What trains you
Progress comes from what you do in the world. Today that means:
- Defeating enemies. In a party, the experience is shared among the members nearby.
- Training dummies set up to drill particular skills.
- Exploring: reaching notable places in the world.
- Quests, whose rewards can include training of their own.
Each of these trains a mix of attributes rather than a single one. Growth also leans toward the build you are already developing, with enough variety that attributes you’ve neglected don’t vanish entirely.
Why growth slows down
The higher an attribute already is, the less each new gain adds to it. Pushing a single attribute forever gets steadily less efficient, while a rounded character keeps growing at a healthy pace.
Locked attributes
Talent and Luck are locked: when you create a character you choose one of them, and neither grows through play or attribute points. No class requires them today.
