The maker's skill: building, forging and repairing with your hands.
Crafting is practical making: working materials, building tools and knowing how things are put together. It is the only requirement of the Crafter, a class built entirely around making things.
It has a combat side as well: Crafting adds to critical chance, the knack for hitting exactly the right spot. Engineers and other hands-on classes ask for it too.
