Dev diary: August–September 2026

A custom ability system, the first real abilities for the four starter classes, five new creature families, and bots that play the game to test it.

August and September were about what you do in a fight, and what you fight.

The ability system

TenkaiClassOnline has its own ability system, built for the way classes work here: abilities come from mastery tiers of the classes you’ve unlocked, not from a fixed skill tree.

  • Effects that stack, tick, buff, debuff, knock back and pull.
  • Mana and Ki as shared resources, so classes that lean on the same pool compete for it.
  • Cast bars, channels and interrupts, with a global cooldown.
  • Real delivery shapes: projectiles (some of them homing), cones, ground areas and dashes.

The first real abilities

On September 1 the four starter classes got their first real abilities, mastery tiers 1 to 3: the Warrior’s heavy blows and steel guard, the Rogue’s poison and shadow step, the Mage’s fire bolt and frost cone, and the Cleric’s healing light. At tier 3 the Cleric must choose between a blessing and an altar. You can see them all on the class pages.

New creatures

The bestiary grew. The slimes got colour variants, and five new families arrived: Orcs, Centaurs, Deep Hunters, Sevarog and the Kraken, fourteen new creatures in all. A dedicated test area now holds every creature in the catalog, so each one can be reached and checked.

Bots that play the game

To balance progression without playing for weeks, the game now has automated bots that run the progression loop on their own, so long-term class growth can be tested without weeks of manual play.
